Please note that yellow bus passes are no longer required and any St Peter’s pupil can use the bus service.

Please ensure your child has a valid IGO pass (If you have not already done so, please visit the website for more information).

If you do not have an IGO pass pupils will have to pay the full adult fare.

Please note that the buses serving St Peter’s High School are public transport services and are not operated or controlled by the school. Each bus has a strict legal capacity, and once full, drivers are entitled to refuse additional passengers.
 
The school is unable to overrule these decisions.
Where necessary, younger students may be prioritised to ensure they can travel home safely.
 
We encourage parents and carers to review the attached bus timetable carefully and consider all available service options. As we cannot guarantee a place on any specific bus, families should ensure appropriate contingency arrangements are in place if a bus reaches capacity.

Fares and Ticketing

Greater Manchester has taken steps to simplify and lower bus fares in order to support residents during the current cost of living pressures, while attracting more people to use buses.


From January 2025, the fares on Bee Network services (including TfGM School Services) will be:

 

  • A new £1 ‘Hopper’ fare will replace child single tickets, allowing them to hop on a number ofBee Network buses within 60 minutes of buying a ticket on the bus(available on bus only).
  • 1-day Bee Bus ticket: £5 Adult / £2.50 Child
  • 7-day Bee Bus ticket:£20 Adult / £10 Child
  • 28-day Bee Bus ticket:£80 Adult / £40 Child The 1-day, 7-day and 28-day tickets provide unlimited travel on all buses in Greater Manchester (including TfGM School Services)and are available to purchase on the Bee Network app, on bus (1-day & 7 day), Bee Network Travel & Information Offices and PayPoint(7-day & 28-day). There are also some fares which are only valid on TfGM School Services:
  • Return –£2
  • TfGM School Weekly Ticket –£7.60 (available to purchase only as a smart ticket on bus and at a Bee Network Travel & InformationOffice)
  • Carnet (10 Single Trips) –£10 (available to purchase only as a smart ticket on bus and at a Bee Network Travel & Information Office)
  • Children aged 11-16 require an IGO card to access child fares

SAFE TRAVELLING

A campaign is currently encouraging students to use TravelSafe LiveChat, a feature within the Bee Network app that allows them to discreetly report crime, antisocial behaviour, or anything that doesn’t feel right during their journey.

While most young people travel responsibly, research shows that many are unsure how to report concerns or what should be reported. This service connects them with a transport-trained team from Greater Manchester Police, providing reassurance and support when needed.

How students can use it:

  • Open the Bee Network app
  • Start a TravelSafe LiveChat
  • Speak directly to a trained advisor in real time
 

Key message for students:
Anytime, any day — they are never alone when travelling.

We encourage you to speak with your child about using TravelSafe LiveChat if they ever feel unsafe or notice something concerning while using public transport.
