Pupil Absence Reporting

To keep accurate attendance records and ensure the health and safety of all students, parents/carers must follow the procedures below.

Reporting Absence

• Every day of absence must be reported through EduLink.

• Upload any medical evidence via EduLink.

• If you cannot access EduLink, email pupilabsence@stpetershigh.com with:

  • Pupil’s full name (in the subject line of the email)

  • Form

  • Parent/carer name reporting the absence

  • Reason for absence

  • Attach supporting evidence

⚠️ All calls/emails must be made by the legal guardian. If we suspect otherwise, an investigation will take place and further action may be taken.

Authorisation of Absence

• Absences will only be authorised if medical evidence is provided or if extenuating circumstances have been agreed by the school.

• Failure to follow the correct procedure will result in your child’s absence being marked as unauthorised.

Attendance Expectations

• If your child’s attendance drops below 97%, you will receive warning letters.

• Continued poor attendance may result in penalty notices and/or court action.

Lateness

• If your child is late, you must email the school with the reason.

• Persistent lateness may result in a formal meeting and a penalty notice.

Holidays

• All holidays during term time are unauthorised.

• You will receive a penalty notice if your child is taken out of school for a holiday.

Medical Appointments

• Appointments should be made outside school hours where possible.

• Without prior agreement or medical evidence, the absence will be unauthorised.

• If your child has any ongoing medical conditions, please ensure that the school is kept fully informed. This allows us to provide the right care and support while they are in school.

Other Important Information

• Update the school immediately with any changes to phone numbers, email, or address via EduLink.

• No student may leave school premises during the day (except in an emergency/approved case) without being collected by a parent or carer.

• Please check the school term dates to avoid unnecessary absences.
