Ethos
Homework is viewed as a vital component of learning at St Peter’s. Not only does homework help to develop important skills such as independence, resilience and organisation in young people, research shows that pupils who regularly complete homework make greater progress. In Key Stage 3, pupils receive a homework booklet every half term outlining each piece of homework that needs to be completed and the date that it is to be submitted. These tasks will range from quizzes to knowledge organisers and projects, and may utilise online learning platforms or may be paper based. In Key Stage 4 homework will be set by class teachers and recorded by pupils in a planner, and will be based around extending and embedding the key knowledge and skills that pupils will need for success in examinations.
