St Peter's achieves Fairtrade School status

In January 2012 St Peter’s achieved national Fairtrade School status. This means:

  • We use Fairtrade products as far as possible
  • Our students learn about how global trade works and why Fairtrade is important
  • We take action for Fairtrade in the school and the wider community

St Peter’s is proud to support Fairtrade, which aims to reduce world poverty by ensuring that the people who produce what we eat, wear and use get paid enough to live on and a chance to improve their lives. Fair trade’s principles of self-help, democracy and equity also mirror St Peter’s values as a Co-operative School.

For more information about Fairtrade and what it means to be a Fairtrade school, please visit the Fairtrade Foundation Website
