U16 Boys Basketball Secure Top 4 in the Country Status

The Under 16 boys’ basketball team has established themselves as one of the top 4 young teams in England following their achievement on reaching the semi-final of the National Elite Competition.

After qualifying 2nd from their pool, they progressed through to the last 4 after securing 2 dramatic comeback wins. The last 16 saw the boys go into the last quarter against Helsby 10 points down yet still they sealed an impressive 9 point win. They topped this effort in the quarter-final after being 18 points down against Bridgewater with 8 minutes remaining only to show resilience and determination to seal an incredible 84-83 victory. Unfortunately, they were unable to repeat the comebacks in the semi-final, eventually losing 45-65 to Queen’s School, Watford. Still, the future bodes well with 9 of the squad being at least a Year younger.

Not to be outdone by their older counterparts, both the Y7 and Y8 Jnr NBA have made an unbeaten start to the season, they have topped their respective leagues and qualified for the last-8 of the Northern Region.
