Make Your Mark

Yet again democracy rides high at St Peter’s where we have been involved in discussing and voting for the issues we feel are most important to young people in Manchester.

For the third year running, all students have voted in the Make Your Mark campaign, a national programme aimed at building young people’s understanding and involvement in democracy by allowing them to take part in the democratic process.

Students had a chance to vote for issues they felt were of great importance to their futures. Their voice will be represented in the Houses of Parliament next month where Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) will present these issues to the leaders of our country!

At St Peter’s, the top three issues were:

Transport. 245 votes

Work experience hubs for 11- 18 year olds. 147 votes

A Curriculum to prepare us for life. 119 votes

WELL DONE TO ALL THOSE WHO TOOK PART WITH SUCH MATURITY!
