Eco-warriors spread the word

On Friday 17th January 2020, 4 students from our Eco Schools Committee attended two youth voice events in the centre of Manchester. First, at the Youth Climate Conference they ran carbon classroom workshops with students from across Manchester. Then they walked to the University and gave a 20 minute presentation about good climate education to 300 trainee teachers at the University of Manchester’s PGCE Inclusion Conference.

Rebecca Philips who helped organise the University of Manchester event said, “The way they spoke so passionately about their eco work was truly inspiring and I was really impressed with the maturity and confidence they all displayed. It was a great way to end the conference with such powerful messages. I have no doubt the trainees will incorporate some of your students’ suggestions into their practice as early career teachers.”
