National Junior Athletics Championships
National Junior Athletics Championships at Warwick University 11th-13th July 2014. 10 athletes from St. Peters went through selection at the Manchester and North West Championships to represent the North West at the National Championships.
Jona Efoloko is 200m National Champion
Thirteen year old St Peter's pupil Jona Efoloko (second from the left in photo) has become under 15s 200m National Champion with a fantastic time of 22.64 secs! Jona was competing at the English Schools' Athletic Association Track and Field Championships in Birmingham.
St Peters Chapel
St Peter's, at long last, has a Chapel! It is a splendid structure at the front of the school and already a local landmark. The Chapel is the key part of the school's new Religious Education Centre. Since the school opened in 1999 the school has managed with a converted classroom, and it has worked, but now after a long wait, the school has a purpose-built Chapel.
Chinese Poetry Festival 2013
On Saturday 7th July 2013, three pupils who have been learning Mandarin Chinese as part of the curriculum at St Peter's won an award in the 2013 Chinese Poetry Festival at Z-arts organised in partnership with Manchester Chinese centre, CfBT and British Academy.
Rugby League Finals
Our Year 7 Girls Rugby League Team has today won through to the National Final which will be played in August. This is a fantastic achievement for our young team who only started playing the game this year since they joined St Peter's! The Year 9 Girls' team made it as far as the semi-finals which is also a tremendous achievement.

Salford City Reds Foundation has remained committed to investing in youth and our local community. The building blocks are in place for SCR to find the future stars of tomorrow from the City of Manchester.
Go For Green
Our Year 9 Engineering students have been involved in the Manchester Carbon Literacy Challenge by creating a giant board game called “Go for Green.”
Manchester Velodrome visit
We were invited to bring a group of year 7 and year 8 pupils to the Manchester Velodrome, to take part in the Manchester Schools Track Championships 2013. 14 pupils have started to attend their six week programme that culminates in an individual 1 lap sprint competition for boys and girls. The top finishers in each league will be invited to a final meeting before the summer school holidays.
Cornerstone is a day centre providing services to adults facing a wide range of social issues including homelessness, poverty, social isolation, poor mental health, drug and alcohol addiction.
