Congratulations to all of the talented Year 7 students who took part in the St Peter’s Spelling Bee Final this half term. Jessica and Afsana were crowned this year’s champions and went on to represent the school at the Manchester Inter-School Spelling Bee at Trinity High School on Tuesday 15th March.
In February, two staff and six pupils attended the CAFOD schools’ conference in Salford. Whilst there, the pupils had the opportunity to hear presentations from many of the other schools, informing the conference of what they had managed to achieve in their CAFOD groups since starting out.
This year has been an outstanding year for netball at St Peter’s with all five year groups finishing in the top three in their leagues.
St Peter’s girls have been taking part in the national rugby league competitions this half term. Over the past few weeks we have been taking part in the North West festivals in Widnes.
Royal Society of Chemistry
Thirty of our most promising year 11 chemists had a master class inspectroscopy from Chemists from the RSC.
Success in Athletics
Over the past couple of months the students at St Peter’s have been taking part in the Manchester Indoor and Sports hall athletic championships.
Welcome to Year 5 Partner Primaries
Once again we have welcomed year 5 children from our partner primary schools into St Peter’s. The children have been able to participate in a number of interesting and fun workshops.
Visitors from Rome
The Congregational Leaders of Sister Edith Le Riche’s Order, Our Lady of the Missions, Sister Josephine Kane and her Assistant Sister Lucy Wambui, who reside in Rome, recently visited St Peter’s RCHS.
Operation Christmas Child
During October and November, students in year 7 and 8, in their form groups have been filling shoe boxes with gifts for the Operation Christmas Child charity.
