The information in this section of the school website relates to all external and internal examinations.
If you have any questions about the information please contact Mr Eavers at school.
All examinations will take place in the Theatre unless otherwise arranged.
Details of any changes will be given at the appropriate time.
All examinations in the morning will start at 9.00 am. Your child must be in school by 8.30 for entry into the exam room and report to the dining room.
All examinations in the afternoon will start at 1.00 pm. Your child must be in the dining room by 12.45 for entry into the exam room.
If your child arrives late for an exam, they will be reported and I have to tell you that the exam board concerned reserves the right to refuse to accept their paper. It is their responsibility to be on time for all exams.
School uniform must be worn for all exams and also any study lessons your child may have. Failure to wear the correct uniform could result in difficulties for them regarding exams.
There must be no mobile phones/electronic equipment/smartwatches in the exam room, switched on or off. It will make it much easier for all if your child does not bring their electronic equipment on the day of their exams. If they do, a plastic wallet will be provided for them. They will be given a token with their seat letter and number on it. They must keep this safe as they will need to hand this in to have their electronic equipment returned at the end of the exam. Please note the examination boards have written to all centres regarding the penalties for students bringing electronic equipment etc. into examinations. I cannot stress enough the importance of not bringing mobile phones/electronic equipment/smartwatches into the examination. Please adhere to the instructions at all times.
Please be aware of what your child needs and bring to each exam. Equipment may be stored in a pencil case but this must be see-through.
You should make sure you have:
Mathematical equipment may be provided for the Maths, Science and Business Studies exams.
In the event of examinations being seriously disrupted, The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and government departments responsible for education have decided on a Contingency Day for examinations which may need to be rescheduled. Exam centres will be alerted by JCQ and the DfE and the affected candidates will be expected to make themselves available in such circumstances. The date this year is Wednesday 24th June 2020. This will mean that all students should be unavailable until after that date. I would ask parents to bear this date in mind when considering family holidays etc.
