French Speaking paper 2: 9 April - 11 May 2018

This exam will follow the following structure where each task will require the pupil to pick a different theme.

  1. Photo card
  2. Role Play
  3. General conversation x 2

French Paper 1 and 3 Listening and Reading:
Tuesday 15 May 2018 (am)
Listening F – 1 hour /  H – 1 hour 15 minutes

Reading F – 1 hour  /  H – 1 hour

French Paper 4 Writing (25%):
Friday 18 May (am)
F – 1 hour      /      H – 1 hour 15 minutes

Theme 1 – Identity and culture

Topic 1 – Me, my family and friends: relationships with family and friends, marriage/partnership.

Topic 2 – Technology in everyday life: social media, mobile technology

Topic 3 – Free-time activities: music, cinema and TV, food and eating out, sport.

Topic 4 – Customs and festivals in French-speaking countries/communities.

 Theme 2 – Local, national, international and global areas of interest

Topic 1 – Home, town, neighbourhood and region.

Topic 2 – Social issues: charity/voluntary work, healthy/unhealthy living

Topic 3 – Global issues: The environment, poverty/homelessness

Topic 4 – Travel and tourism

Theme 3 – Current and future study and employment.

Topic 1 – My studies

Topic 2 – life at school/college

Topic 3 – Education post-16

Topic 4 – Jobs, career choices and ambitions.

Teacher revision – your French teacher will also let you know when they want you to attend specific revision sessions before school or at lunch. Please also do not hesitate to knock on our door whenever you want something clarifying or explaining!

Revision Sessions:

Every Tuesday and Thursday 3:15-4:00pm in A2/3.
 These sessions will help:

  • To develop skills to successfully tackle exam style questions
  • Speaking spontaneity
  • Vocabulary and grammar and translation revision
  • Go through past exam papers
